NIST GC Retention Index Database

The Database contains a total of 293,247 literature citations (retention index values and GC methods). 21,940 of the 44,008 compounds are in the NIST08 MS Library. Users can search by chemical names, molecular formula,molecular weight, CAS number and chemical structures. Estimated non-polar retention index (n-alkane series) values are provided for each compound. Search results can be refined according to column type (packed or capillary), stationary-phase type (polar or non-polar), GC temperature conditions (isothermal or temperature programmed), and/or retention index type (Lee or Kovats).
